Four Marks were left to rue a whole host of missed chances as they were knocked out of the Hampshire Cup in controversial fashion on Saturday.
The home side started brightly, and Chris Peach was denied by a fantastic stop from the FC Bournemouth keeper.
Jacob Warwick was narrowly off target when clean through, and Ricky Peters had a header well saved.
With 20 minutes gone, Four Marks were rewarded for their early dominance when a Graham Purser cross was headed in by left-back Mark Heffernan.
The chances kept coming for the home side, but Purser and Peach were unable to find a way past the impressive keeper.
Four Marks were made to pay for all their missed opportunities when FC Bournemouth found an equaliser with 13 minutes remaining. Despite fierce protests from the home side for a foul, the goal stood.
Three minutes later, Four Marks felt even more a sense of injustice as keeper Joe Brock was penalised, and the away team scored from the resulting penalty.
Four Marks responded well, and the game was soon level again when Rob Shanley fired home after a shot from Tom Reffell was deflected into his path.
With extra-time looming, the Bournemouth League side regained the lead with an excellent free-kick from 30 yards out.
There was still time for Four Marks to go agonisingly close though.
Deep into stoppage time, striker Reffell rounded the keeper, but his shot was inches wide of the post.
